Many years ago, as an editor/publisher of a spiritual magazine just prior to the real emergence of electronic media, my desk would inevitably be brimming over with articles and papers and documents waiting for processing and assimilating. The only time I managed to get to the bottom of the pile was when leaving for a prolonged period. In this instance it was 1998, Suzanne and I about to take a spiritual tour of Australians to Sedona in the USA and the day I decided to tidy my desk completely I turned a seemingly innocent act into the most significant step I have ever taken in my life.

At the bottom of the pile was a manila envelope, quite thick with photocopied pages. I remember glancing at it some weeks before but as there was no return address and no message relating to the contents it had failed to awaken my interest. As I sat on the floor of the lounge by the fire, this envelope was the last for inspection — ready to be condemned along with many others into the flames or to be filed for future reference.

Suzanne tells me she looked up saw me in tears, the pages spread about me.

The writer was Jon Marc Hammer, although I did not know it at the time. The subject was his reluctant meeting in his living room with Jesus or as the energy identified Itself, Jeshua — the Aramaic name by which Jesus was known during his lifetime. (see The Jeshua Letters)

As I went from page to page I identified so perfectly with this writer's personal experience. As I felt the resonance increase within me I experienced what I can only describe as a sense of "overwhelming belonging". The writer went on to describe his reluctance to accept the mysterious visitor which while perhaps somewhat humorous to the average reader, for me at that time was so profound because I felt as if I was there in the moment experiencing all of this with Jon Marc.

In truth, I guess I was for at the age of 12 years, I too had denied Jesus, banishing Him along with 'His' Christianity, the religion that determined that only people belonging to that belief were going to go to Heaven — something this young boy could not accept as the truth.

As this 'resonance' in me 'blossomed' I felt a deep brotherly connection to this writer and even more strangely, to his visitor.

Not knowing who had sent this material or why this material had found its way to me, it took some days of serious detective work to discover Jon Marc and his contact details. I immediately made connection and asked if I could use an excerpt from the material for the Journal to share my experience with our readers. And so began our exceptional spiritual journey with both Jayem as Jon Marc Hammer is now known and Jeshua, as wonderful and very 'real' brothers — a journey which has transformed into a very close relationship.

Not too much time passed and we invited Jayem to Australia organizing a retreat for him in Noosa. During the course of sharing a unit at the resort Suzanne noticed that prior to each meeting with the group Jayem would disappear into his room with a much marked and tabbed with yellow 'stickies' spiral bound book. Curious, she asked what it was and was told that it was the first book of 12 lessons — a series of vital life teachings given to Jayem by Jeshua and now called the Way of Mastery.

"We are off to the beach, can we borrow it?" Suzanne asked. With obviously some hesitation Jayem handed it over asking her to take care as it was the last one. Apparently several hundred had been printed and distributed but the source had since dried up. On the beach in Noosa as Suz and I lay in the sun, I opened the first lesson and began to read out loud. After less than three paragraphs, I felt a wave of deep and profound emotion begin to arise in me. As I stumbled over my words, Suz looked up and saw large tears forming in my eyes as I read the words. I will never forget the exquisite sensation — a 'pain' as if a membrane around my heart was being torn open and I was overcome by the absolute knowing that I had found something so meaningful, so directly aligned to my soul's path and so imperative for me. Literally, I knew what 'HOME' was. Suz also dissolved in tears as we continued in awe to share the words of the first two lessons with each other.

From that moment on all the many aspects and intriguing modalities of the New Age, the spiritual trappings and accompanying stories of magical Ascension fell away and we were enveloped by this profound Truth given by Jeshua. Our embracement was wholehearted and became our focus as we devoted our time and energy to bringing Jeshua's teachings to the public's attention. Obviously, we were not alone in the resonance for quickly the materials were snapped up by others who tasted the heady elixir of Jeshua's undeniable wisdom, so many relating immediately to this new perspective of what Jesus was really seeking to convey. The production of the original recordings of the ten years of channelings followed the books and more and more material was unearthed. Jayem, now a reclusive and most reluctant mystic was 'dragged' back into the world from Maui where he had chosen to withdraw in order to deepen his own journey with Jeshua and was encouraged by us to make public appearances and lead groups and pilgrimages so that the deeper soul aspects of Jeshua's impact could be felt.

As Suzanne and I have told others many times from our own deep personal experience, this is a fully 'LIVING' experience, the 'energy field' that once empowered a historical figure is very much alive and present and fully participatory with, and for each of us, if we engage with It. The dynamic of Jeshua reaches both into and extends out from us. The initial contact through the teachings serve as the nutrients upon which the relationship is built which, if one is willing to 'stay the course' and it is not easy, must eventuate in the demise of the ego in this lifetime. Jayem has gone much further than the Way of Mastery teachings, yet they remain the pillars upon which the truth is built and are vital stepping stones for a solid grasp and understanding leading us safely and gently to full acceptance of who we are. When we started in 1998 we could only offer the books and tapes, today we have simply awe inspiring Online correspondence courses, multiple teaching CDs, visual DVDs, Jayems's translations of Jeshua's deep and meaningful messages hidden in the Aramaic of the Lord's Prayers and The Beatitudes. There are annual and very personal "Palpable Forgiveness" retreats, events in USA, UK, Europe, Australia and Bali. Bali is the present base for Jayem's work — a beautiful Ashram in the mountain village of Ubud where you can participate and experience the full import of Jeshua's real work as he gave of Himself to the original disciples. Our joint dream with Jayem of a being able to offer a tangible PathWay onto which one could step and be carried is now fully realized.

The very real work of this lifetime is the eradication of the ego's hold on each of us. This is not something that can be 'wished' away, it requires deep and committed responsibility and the willingness to be open and vulnerable as never before. The PathWay is about regaining Mastery over the ego and becoming aligned to the Truth of who we are — fully acknowledging and accepting what it is to hold and live in the state of being known as the 'Christ' and as The Son of God, fully aligned in Service to Humanity while enjoying what Jayem has coined, "The Seamless Life" that is the experience of one who has willingly taken on the role of a "Mystic Lover".

I could not resist extracting some words from Jeshua, words from the very first lesson in what has become Way of Mastery, the foundation upon which the PathWay rests for they are so perfect and so full in explanation of what is offered to you. What can I say but, come on in — the water's warm and many friends are already here, gathered and waiting for you.

You will discover, then, that the pathway of awakening is not a pathway of avoidance, but a pathway of truthfulness. It is not a pathway of accomplishment and pride, but a pathway of releasing from the consciousness every hope and every wish to be special.

It is a way in which you will come to cultivate — regardless of your inner experience or degrees of awakening — to cultivate the willingness and the art of returning to the simplicity of empty-headedness and not-knowingness, with each and every breath. It is a way of life in which all things and all events become an aspect of your meditation and your prayer, until there is established, once again within you, the Truth that is true always:

Not my will, but Thine be done. For of myself, I do nothing. But my Father does all things through me.

Imagine, then, a state of being in which you walk through this world, seemingly appearing like everyone else, and yet, you are spacious within; you are empty within. In Truth, you desire nothing, though you allow desire to move through you, and you recognize it as the Voice of the Father, guiding your personality, your emotions, and even the body, to the places, to the events, to the people, to the things, to the experiences through which the tapestry of the Atonement is being woven, through which all of the Children of God are called home again. And you trust the complete flow of that, whether you are asked to give a speech in front of ten thousand people, or you're asked to tell a friend the truth of your feelings, or whether or not you are, perhaps, asked to sweep the streets and live penniless. For in Truth, that mind that trusts the Source of its creation allows all things, trusts all things, embraces all things, and transcends all things.

I want to give you this thought, even as I gave it to this, my beloved brother, (Jayem) some time ago. And the thought is this and I would ask that you consider it well: What if the very life you are living, and each experience that is coming to you now, since the moment you decided, "I've got to awaken here" — what if everything was being directly sent to you of your Father, because your Father knows what is necessary to unravel within your consciousness to allow you to awaken? What if the very things you are resisting are the very stepping stones to your homecoming? What if you achieved a maturity along this pathway in which you were finally willing to let things be just as they are?

And so, The Way of the Heart begins there. It begins by accepting the humility that you've created quite a mess within your consciousness. You've created a labyrinth and gotten lost within it, and you don't know the way back — that of yourself, you can do nothing. For all you've managed to achieve is the creation of a whole lot of insane dramas that are, in Truth, occurring nowhere except within the field of your mind. They are like chimeras, like dreams. In Truth, there is no difference between a waking state, in which you would be the director of your life, and the dreams you have when the body sleeps at night. They are both the same thing.

Awakening is only remembrance; but it is a remembrance not just of the intellect; for it is not an idea, as you would understand ideas. It is an idea that vibrates through the whole field of your beingness, so that even the cells of the body — while yet the body remains coalesced together in its present form — even the cells of the body awaken and relax into the Truth that is true always.

Cultivate a deep love and respect for yourself, for you are not here to "fix" the world. You are not here to "fix" your brother or sister. It is only Love that heals. And until you have loved yourself wholly, by having purified the mind of every erroneous thought you've ever held — until you've loved yourself — you do not, in Truth, love anyone or anything, save in those brief moments when you let your guard down and the Love of God shines forth, through you, so quickly you don't even know what happened. For the wise gardener cultivates a state of consciousness in which the Love of God is unimpeded.

Beloved friends — those of you that have elected to answer a call to participate in this pathway, with this Family — if you would make your commitment to trusting your Creator for having set before you a pathway that can, indeed, lead you home, you will, indeed, arrive at home. But commitment means that you don't get to leave the room when the shouting begins. The shouting we're speaking of is the shouting within your own mind, within your own body, within your own emotions. That you will stay with these things by being honest about them, and loving yourself for ever having the power to even create such insane perceptions of yourself and the world around you.

The Way of the Heart is the final pathway that any soul can enter. There are many stages of awakening. There are many pathways that can be followed, but ultimately, "All roads lead to Rome," so they say. Eventually each soul must find its way into The Way of the Heart, and come back to the Truth that it's time to take responsibility, to learn to cultivate the ability to look upon the deep and vicious blackness of what I have called ego, which is nothing more than the cesspool of denial — it is that which lacks Light — and begin to bring Light back to it by simply observing your own mind, your own behavior, your own reactions with a sense of wonder, with a sense of innocence, with a sense of childlikeness.

The Way of the Heart is the way that calls you home. And the call comes from that deep part of your soul that is still like unto the Spirit, which abides as Christ in the Holy Mind of God. Trust, then, that you are as a sunbeam to the sun. And trust not the perceptions you have cultivated in error. For you are not alone on the way that you journey, and you journey not apart from your brothers and sisters. This Family cannot know separation, though some may seem to come and go. For once the call to awaken through this lineage has been acknowledged, though bodies may not communicate in space and time, rest assured, communication remains, and there is no way to avoid it.

We enter, now, a stage where it's time to stop listening out of polite kindness or out of curiosity, and to step into the willingness to don the mantle of that one committed to healing every obstacle to the presence of Love that may yet remain secretly hidden in the depth of that part of your mind which would struggle to be separate from God, and to remember that you are truly the Light that can come to shine, lovingly, upon every aspect of darkness you have known.

So along this pathway, you are going to learn how to shake hands with the devil, and to do a little jig with him, and recognize his face to be your own. For when you can dance with the darkness that you have created, that darkness is transformed into an angel. And Light abides with Light."
